About Us

FUTURO is an inclusive organization committed to creating equitable opportunities in education, our communities, and the workplace. We strive to enhance the quality of life for the underserved and underrepresented in our communities through education, leadership training, service, strong partner networks, and civic engagement.

Our Story

Since FUTURO’s inception, we have set ourselves apart from other organizations on campus. We focus on building a professionally driven, strong community of leaders who are engaged and prepared for the workforce. Our greatest asset is our group of determined young professionals, our alumni, leaders, and community partners. Along with our partners, our goal is to create a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable workforce. The wealth of support from FUTURO alumni, professional mentors, and volunteers provides students with guidance and inspiration, as well as opportunities for job shadow, internships, mentorship, career growth, and professional development.

FUTURO is the Spanish word for “future” because we intentionally work to make students’ dreams a reality.

Our Mission

FUTURO, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to closing the equity gaps in higher education by providing college- and career-readiness skills and leadership training for Hispanic/Latino students and other underrepresented peers. FUTURO believes in creating a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable workforce. We root ourselves in the Latino value of “familia.” Through our familia — alumni, community leaders, professional mentors, partners, and volunteers — students gain access to the skills, support, and opportunities they need to build self-confidence and improve their economic mobility. Professional development opportunities, like job shadowing, internships, and mentorship, prepare students to become business and civic leaders. One life, one familia, one community at a time — FUTURO students are creating a new future, right now.
