DAY 2
Dear Reader,
Today we woke up to a beautiful morning in El Viejo San Juan to explore the city a bit more and take in some views. We walked around town and decided to get some smoothies at Bien Papayas.
When it was time for brunch we stopped at Cafe Berlin and strategized about what we would do for the rest of the day. At Cafe Berlin we learned the difference between cafe con leche and a latte. We enjoyed some team building conversation during brunch by learning more about each other and talked about self care and how we each practice gratitude. Sam mentioned he loved his omelet and found happiness eating delicious foods with good company.
After brunch we walked to El Castillo del Morro for pictures and sightseeing.
We visited local shops for souvenirs and explored the streets of Puerto Rico and the architecture. We arrived at La Puerta de San Juan and saw troubadours and learned about the history of the port. During our walk through the city we saw a picture spot with an “I “heart” San Juan” and we huddled up to take a group picture at Sam’s request.
We walked along the coast and arrived at Puerto Rico’s tourism time capsule marker in the center of the plaza with a promise written on the floor with a goal of economic mobility through the profits of tourism. People in the plaza were having a good time with elders playing dominoes under canopies and people dancing to live music and a raffle. Along the street we could see pop-up vendors.
