The Fast Track student cohort of 2023 is a quarter of the way done with the 8-week seminar on intensive career development workshops. The student participants have conducted a pre-assessment where they are asked about their knowledge of the topics covered during the program. They have learned how to set themselves up for success and make a good first impression when networking with employers and colleagues. In the second session of Fast Track held at Second Harvest food bank, they learned about capitalizing on their diversity, cultural agility, employee resource groups, and how to set SMART goals.
As a student of the Fast Track 2023 cohort, I have learned the difference between diversity and inclusion and ways to determine when somebody else is capitalizing on my diversity. Employee resource groups are a great way to foster an inclusive environment and increase employee retention rates.
